Maikeda Wyndham Hotel

This hotel is a new brand under the Wyndham Hotel Group. Located at No. 386 Yingbin Avenue, Dianbai District, Maoming City, it enjoys a prime location adjacent to Dianbai Wanda Plaza, Citizen Park, and the 10,000-mu mangrove forest scenic area. The hotel offers several smart guest rooms of different styles, equipped with meeting rooms, a gym, laundry room, and cypress fragrance and aromatherapy services.

The guest room basic control system provides integrated management of core equipment such as lighting, air conditioning, curtains, and televisions. Upon check-in, inserting the card to access power instantly triggers a “welcome mode”—the entryway light automatically turns on, the main light’s brightness is adjusted to avoid glare, and the air conditioning simultaneously returns to a comfortable temperature (if the guest has a previous check-in record, the system automatically retrieves the historical temperature and fan speed settings). At night, guests can switch to “sleep mode” with a single touch on the bedside touch panel; the main light and television automatically turn off, the night light turns on, the curtains slowly close, and the air conditioning switches to silent operation. Upon leaving the room, after removing the card, the system delays for 30 seconds before cutting off non-essential power (except for the refrigerator and emergency lighting), and the air conditioning switches to energy-saving mode to maintain a base room temperature of 26°C to avoid energy waste.

Energy management is one of the core highlights of this case. The system uses an energy monitoring module in the guest room to collect real-time power consumption data from equipment such as air conditioning, lighting, and sockets, and uploads this data to the hotel’s back-end management platform. Managers can view energy consumption statistics reports for each guest room and floor through a visual interface, and can also set energy consumption threshold warnings—when the daily energy consumption of a guest room exceeds the average for similar rooms, the system will automatically alert maintenance personnel to investigate whether there is equipment malfunction or improper guest use. After the hotel implemented this system, the average daily power consumption of guest rooms has significantly decreased compared to before the upgrade, resulting in monthly electricity cost savings.

Regarding system integration and operational efficiency, the Dingshengwei guest room control system achieves data interoperability with the hotel’s PMS system and network system. When guests check in at the front desk, their room type information and special requests (such as high floors or quiet rooms) are synchronized to the guest room control system, allowing for pre-setting of guest room equipment. Guests can directly initiate cleaning and repair requests via the guest room TV, and the request information is pushed to the mobile devices of housekeeping staff in real time, shortening the response time compared to traditional telephone repairs. Simultaneously, the system supports remote operation and maintenance; the backend can monitor the operating status of guest room equipment in real time, automatically triggering alarms for problems such as air conditioning fan malfunctions or lighting circuit abnormalities, eliminating the need for maintenance personnel to check each room individually.

In addition, the system simplifies the operation logic for some elderly hotel guests – the touch panel features large fonts and high contrast, and commonly used functions (such as air conditioning on/off and lighting adjustment) are set up with separate physical buttons to avoid complicated hierarchical operations. In actual use, the elderly guests have a higher learning rate of the system, which takes into account the usage needs of different customer groups.
